10th Dublin (Kilternan) Scout Troop Centenary Ball
The 2009 - 2010 scouting year is the 100th anniversary year of the 10th Dublin (Kilternan) Scout Troop. Originally founded by Lord Powerscourt and based in Enniskerry, 10th Dublin moved into Kilternan in the 1950s.

The troop has waxed and waned over the 100 years but has never disappeared and, at the moment, has more than 100 youth and adult members in 4 sections (Beavers, Cubs, Scouts and Ventures) from 6 to 18 years of age.

In recent years the numbers in the troop have grown enormously and very quickly reflecting the many new families moving into the area. In order to accommodate these new members, the troop recently moved from its former den in the Kilternan Parish Hall to a new den in the Kilternan School.

As part of the centenary celebrations, 10th Dublin (Kilternan) are organising a centenary ball for former scout members, current and former leaders and all our friends and supporters. The Ball will be held on the 6th of February in the Summerhill House Hotel, Enniskerry.   Tickets (€65) are available from Des Kennedy, Spar, Stepaside or John Donovan, Deputy Group Leader,(087 9743137), Shane Daly, Venture Leader (087 624 7361) or Heather Niland, Group Leader. Details are on the 10th Dublin (Kilternan) website (http://www.kilternanscouts.com), Facebook (Kilternan Scouts) and from any of the Section Leaders.

If you were a scout, the parent of a scout, the friend of a scout, a leader or involved in any other way with Kilternan Scouts, why not come along and enjoy the night, meet old friends and tell us about your scouting days.
